Jordan Melo M12 PE \\ worn by Carmelo Anthony Thursday morning shoot around
NBA season is around the corner, the gang over at since95 are banging out some hot new goodies for the 20th anniversary of the Raptors, 'Heritage Tee. Remembering a young fresh new team which hustle & flowed their way into the deepest post season in team history. White & Purple colors that scream RAPTORS of the past! Names that you know of by heart. Memories that keep Torontonians chatting regularly. Pretty sure we'll be seeing plenty of these at games this season. Who knows, maybe we may catch VC wearing one soon.

Nov 9th 2013 brought yet another chapter of Torontos sneaker scene. The Toronto Raptors joined by FootLocker Canada decided it was time to take a crack (no Rob Ford joke here) and open up the Air Canada Center to our citie's sole enthusiasts. Bringing together the locals that live and breathe everything and anything sneaker related. Very similar event as we have seen in the past, just a new face running it in the background, in a new establishment. It all makes perfect sense, why not have a sneaker event at the ACC. This is something our city has been waiting for you could say. Your usual suspects in attendance, buyers, sellers, traders, vendors, Foot Locker showing off their beautiful Jordan hardwood court display, Raptor dance pack beauties walking around keeping patrons smiling, music bumping at the perfect BPM's. MLSE opened up a table full of autographed Raptor worn pairs as well as some not worn, with proceeds going to the MLSE charitable foundation. TorontoLovesKicks showed some sample Fila goods that won't be out until next year, if that's not hot enough, they had a strong nostalgic Travel Fox set up, original pairs from the '80's/'90's. Keep a ear out for that brand name if you're not familiar with it, just sayin. Of course the main reason KickTixTO attendees were on hand was to witness the crowning of the best sneaker showing at the event. While the judges walked around, talking to the individuals/crews that brought some serious collectables to show off, I know the final decision could not have been a easy one. Victorious at the end of the day, #SneakerMisfits brought heavy hitting sole goodness to take the title home, $1000 in Foot Locker GF's along with some other treats. While the event itself seemed to fly by rather quickly, most of us got to stay afterwards to watch the Raptors beat down on the Jazz. Nice perk for those in attendance, your entry ticket also got you a seat at the game, bonus! I hope we have an KicksTixTO part2 in the works. As for my personal opinionated feedback about the event, refreshments, surprisingly there was none. The security was a tad pushy especially once the winners were announced, it wasn't even end of the show and they were trying to usher & push people out. Not a good look, I understand that the arena needs to be prepped for the game, but there was still time for that. The fact that NO Raptor players made an appearance, kinda disappointed some. Would have been a nice touch for those in attendance to get a picture or autograph from them.
But at the end of the day, I believe KicksTixTO was a success, brought us sneaker enthusiasts together for the same cause, love of the Sole. Please let me also take this short minute to thank everyone for their support, I always appreciate hearing your feedback about my photography, blog write ups and anything related. Keep that C&C coming my way! Shout out to all my Sole heads, y'all know who you are!

Toronto Loves Kicks presented another chapter of Toronto's own Sneaker Battle United We Sole on Sunday Sept 15. Bringing back sneaker enthusiasts as well as entertaining new comers. Reuniting in the Great Hall, where the atmosphere was low lit, pumping with DJ Channel 9's hard hitting beats and sneaker lovers in every part of the 30K square foot venue. Throne Barbers were on sight fading & lining up customers, art displays were being shown & raffled, vendors promoting apparel and kids walking around with shoes in their hands looking to sell/trade was in full mass. As for the sneaker battle itself, individuals/crews brought their collections of kix, displayed for all to see & judge. Contestants brought out for show everything from original sneakers from way back in the day, to some of the hottest footwear being released to date. Of course judging a sneaker battle is all in good fun, it's about personal preference and what each individual likes.
Surprisingly also was the good amount of female sneaker enthusiasts on scene, which is great to see, the ladies have a fantastic shoe game, they rocked them on foot and displayed them as well *cough cough (@bevy_bevv)
A special presentation from @SelfMadeSince89 to the TLK crew, custom pair of Jordan X's, which were designed with the city of Toronto in mind, city map/architectural structures and nicknames were hand burned into the leather of the silhouette, salmon colored accents flow through out the shoe.
Bringing the day to a close, some on stage performances were conducted, beat boxing showcase, local artists dropping lyrical madness and of course the announcement of the sneaker battles winner! Which for the second year in a row went to the 'SneakerMisfits !!! Congrats!
#TorontoGotSole & #CanadaGotSole was represented in the best way! This was def not the typical low key event that we have seen in the past.
I was humbly ecstatic to see familiar faces as well as meeting folks that I have talked to via social media but never had the chance to chat face 2 face, of course meeting new people with the same passion was really nice.
Please click the image below, it will take you to the full gallery, cheers & enjoy some of my captures!
The masses always scream 'YES when it comes to Player Exclusive sneakers, Pairs that are specifically made for NBA'ers. Thirst is extremely heavy when it comes to these PE's. But yet when PE's other than Nike or Jordan Brand are sourced out by bloggers/sites, the attention they receive is very minimal. Why is this you may be asking...
Sneaker heads, sneaker enthusiasts from all over the planet flock to anything big star related, such as Lebrons shoes, Kobes, MJ's or any other player that wears that BIG brand. Automatically when you see a shoe such as PEAK/Li-Ning, the crowds go 'ewwww. Which is the case that I have personally witnessed countless times. You could say I was one of those negative Nancy's years ago, until owning my first pair of Li-Nings opened my eyes. Seeing the craftsmanship that goes into these so called giant Asian Brands is truly quite refreshing. Quality is by far superior to many Nike/JB/Adidas products. I always tell others that if they have a chance to own, try on, sample a pair, do so. Never judge a shoe from a image you see on the net, give it a chance.
With that said, ever Christmas Day, the NBA puts on a festival of games, the hottest team facing each other, not only in player vs player action. But also in Christmas shoe cw's . Players wearing special Christmas themed/colored sneakers. Every silhouette has a special color. Same goes for players that are signed to these Asian brands, they get the goods as well. Like Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors. Here is a preview of his PEAK Karter King Lowry 'Christmas PE's. Red/Green colorway, personal Lowry attention is seen through out the entire shoe, patent leather, textured/monogram upper. Now let's see if Lowry will be healthy & back in the line up to wear these on court.
